On July 7, Tibet Airlines opened a roundtrip route from Kunming to Nyingchi, which marks the second air route from Kunming to Tibet after the Kunming-Lhasa route, Chinanews.com reported.

The opening of this route means passengers traveling from Kunming to Nyingchi no longer have to spend one day transferring through Chengdu, cutting the travel time from two days/one night to two hours. This is the next step in promoting the development of tourism between these two places, making it easier for tourists to travel.

Tibet Airlines flight TV9903/04 operates one round-trip journey between Kunming and Nyingchi each day. It leaves Kunming Airport at 07:50 in the morning, landing at Nyingchi Airport at 10:05. The return flight leaves Nyingchi at 11:15 in the morning and lands back in Kunming at 13:15. The flight time is about 2 hours and the aircraft in use is an A319 high altitude-type passenger aircraft which can seat around 128 people.
