Dressing tips in Tibet
Generally speaking, Tibet is not hot in the summer. The temperature is extremely comfortable. Winter is not cold, and Tibet does not suffer from the same bone chilling winds that occur in northern districts. Even though it is comparable with the provinces south of the Yangtze River, the sunlit city of Lhasa is famous for having even more beautiful sunshine.
For dressing leisure jackets, outdoor clothing, sportswear are preferred. We advise that you wear a two-layered coat or one can keep out the cold. Under that, wear warm materials such as wool. If you are sickly or easily cold, add more layers.
Pants:
Underwear:Generic cotton is fine; just make sure you bring enough for when you need to wash them.

Tips:
1) In high altitude areas like Namtso, Mt Qomolangma and Ngari, you need to wear wool, down, or other warm-ups all year round. In July, visiting Namtso on a day trip will only require a thick wool sweater. If you're staying overnight, bring warm weather clothes like down. In Lhasa, Nyingchi, Shigatse, Lhoka, and similar places, please refer to the seasonal guide above to see which clothes you should wear.
2) The sun is bright and the air is dry in Tibet all year round. People who care about appearance can consider hats, sunglasses, makeup, and other skincare products.
3) The difference in temperature between day and night is very large in Tibet. In winter, a 15 degree change can be noted. In other seasons, this is usually more like ten degrees. Travelers should keep in mind the potential for cold weather and prepare accordingly so as to avoid getting sick.
