The 5th Basum Co Mountain Cycling Race ended on May 2nd in southwest China'sTibet Autonomous Region, with 117 competitors from within China and overseas participating. Wei Kui from northwest China's Qinghai Province and Su Yue from Tibet finally won the men's and women's  champion, with a result of 3 hours, 23 mins, and 5 secs and 4 hours, 39 mins, and 42 secs respectively.

The race is 99 km in length, with 90% as mountain track. The two-day race started on May 1st, with participants starting from the entrance of the Basum Co Lake scenic spot, riding around the lake 30 km to reach Kyerpa Village, where the players started their second day of the race to ride another 60 km before they reach the finish line.

Nyima Tsering, Vice Chief of the Sports Bureau of Tibet said this is the fifth session of the Basum Co Mountain Cycling Race; the race has attracted many domestic and international top amateur cyclists as it continues to develop.
