Tibetan mountaineers to explore the South Pole

Two Tibetan mountaineers, Tsering Tendar and Dechen Ngodup, are going to climb the Mount Vinson, highest peak in Antarctica, and walk to the South Pole in December, 2016. A departure ceremony was held in Lhasa by Tibet Sports Bureau and the Mountaineering Team of Tibet for them on November 29. Xinhua reported.
Two teachers from the Mountaineering Team of China University of Geosciences and three students including Tsering Tendar and Dechen Ngodup will depart to the Antarctica and start the one-month-long climbing and hiking. It is the last stop for the two mountaineers in their exploration of climbing the seven summits and trekking the North and South Poles.
