Mt. Gang Rinpoche is located in Burang County of Ngari Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. It has an altitude of 6,656 meters and the mountain peaks are covered in snow year round.

Shaped like a pyramid, the mountain is considered the center of the world by followers of Hinduism, Jainism, Bon, and Tibetan Buddhism.

Every year, many believers come to worship at Mt. Gang Rinpoche, and Tibetan locals call the mountain “Holy Mountain.” Worshippers and tourists hike the mountain to relax, meditate, and pray for blessings as they search for inner spirituality.

For Tibetan Buddhist followers, hiking the mountain is not merely a walk but a process to worship the Buddha and cultivate the soul.

In 2014, Panchen Erdeni Choskyi Gyalpo visited and worshipped at Mt. Gang Rinpoche.

On June 22nd, 2015, the China-India Natoi La channel had its first group of Indian worshippers who used the channel to enter Tibet Autonomous Region for their pilgrimage tour.

In previous years, Indian pilgrims entered Tibet via the Qiangla mountain pass in Burang County, Ngari Prefecture, to worship at Mt. Gang Rinpoche.
