The First Tibet Tulip Cultural Festival and the “Beautiful Tsalna” AAA Scenic Spot’s opening ceremony will commence on May 1 in Tsalna Township of Chushul County, Lhasa City of Tibet Autonomous Region.

On that day, the opening ceremony will be held along with many exciting activities such as song and dance performances with strong Tibetan flavor as well as garden party.

The “Beautiful Tsalna” Scenic Spot was originally set to end its free-ticket policy and practice “one ticket system” with 150 yuan (24.2 US dollars) per person on May 1. But now the "one-ticket" policy will not put into operation until May 2. Therefore, on May 1, Lhasa citizens and tourists will still be free to enter the scenic spot, enjoying the flower ocean and feeling the fragrant and beautiful tulip blossoms.

It is known by everyone that tulip is Holland’s national flower and it has been given many kinds of nice characteristics. The First Tibet Tulip Cultural Festival will turn the spring outing activity into a more connotative and meaningful one, therein providing the citizens and tourists a nice place to go.

In order to satisfy different groups of people’s demands regarding spiritual culture, apart from holding the festival, the scenic spot will continue to organize the Marigold Festival and the Flower Queen Festival with the theme of “Paradisaical Tibet, Heaven on Earth, Beautiful Tsalna, and Charming Plateau”,
