Themed with "hand in hand, path to profit", the trade fair of the 2013 Yarlung Culture Festival which is held in the Lhoka Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region from Aug.15 to 21, has attracted 23 investment projects with a total contract amount of 2.961 billion yuan (about 483.8 million U.S. dollars), according to Xinhua. Fields of tourism industry, husbandry and traditional Tibetan medicine are involved.

The 2013 Yarlung Culture Festival is organized by the Lhoka Prefecture with the subject of "origination and predestination in Tibet: Lhoka Prefecture", aiming at facilitating tourism and socio-economic development. Therefore, the trade fair is one of the most important activities during the festival.

Song Xiaoping, director of the Economic Cooperation Bureau in the Lhoka Prefecture, has introduced the investment preferential policies and superior resources, and highly recommended 10 investment promotion projects to the enterprises.

According to statistics, altogether 145 enterprises have been invited to the Lhoka Prefecture since the establishment of Investment Agency, bringing over 6 billion yuan (about 979.8 million U.S. dollars) of actual investment and paying taxes of more than 2 billion yuan (about 326.6 million U.S. dollars).

The Lhoka Prefecture is situated in the south of Mt. Gangdise and Mt. Nyanchen Thanglha range, along the middle and lower reaches of Yarlung Tsangpo River, covering an area of nearly 80,000 square kilometers with a population of about 350,000 featuring in Tibetans. It is rich in the resources of tourism, Tibetan medicinal materials, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishing and handicraft industry. Therefore, the Lhoka Prefecture will use the resources effectively to promote its development and build a good investment environment for the invited enterprises.

The trade fair of the 2013 Yarlung Culture Festival provides a platform for the economic and trade negotiations based on the cultural tourism industry. Making the full use of policy introduction, project promotion and signing intention, the trade fair will be good at publicizing Lhoka Prefecture's excellent investment environment, favorable investment policies and superior investment services, facilitating more economic cooperation.
