During the recent concluded “5th China Sichuan International Tea Industry Expo”, Metok tea leaves from Tibet Autonomous Region were exhibited for the first time.

The expo was designed with many themed-shops such as houses selling famous tea leaves from home and abroad as well as tea culture rooms.

Enterprises from 20 provinces attended the expo; tea leaves companies from countries including Sri Lanka and Korea also participated in the expo.

Many activities were carried out such as Tea Contest,  “Mother's Day” Tea Festival, blind date game, and so on.

The Metok tea leaves on exhibition this time, all picked from the local organic tea garden, are really rich in nutritional materials such as theanine and tea polyphenol. Belonging to highland organic healthy food, the Metok tea leaves' market is highly potential. According to the development plan of the Metok County tea industry, a 2,000-acre tea garden will be built this year.

Since the Metok County officially enlarged the tea industry scale in 2013, the local tea industry has developed rapidly. So far, a total of 13 organic tea gardens covering 4,293 acres have been built in the county.
