How to photograph Tibet's beautiful scenery (IV)
It is impossible to capture all of Tibet's natural beauty in your photographs no matter how many pictures you take and how many times you take. You will always find new beauty. Tibet is worth visiting again and again, each time filling your camera with new images.
16. Pome
Springtime here brings the sea of flowers, summer brings leafy green trees, autumn is a world of gold, and in winter, the snow falls in the woods. The misty, smoky mountains are a beautiful vision to behold.
17. Lulang
Lulang Forest Sea is a world of trees, known as "Switzerland of China". When you climb Seche La Peak, beautiful Namjiagbarwa Peak appears. Forests, meadows, villages, cattle and sheep, as well as the slow-moving Nyang River—no matter where you point your camera, you will take a beautiful picture!
18. Mapham Yutso Lake
Mapham Yutso Lake is one of Tibet's three holy lakes, situated beside the sacred mountain, Gang Rinpoche (Mount Kailas). Each year in September, believers from all over the world gather around the lake, holding holy ceremonies, taking ritual walk around holy mountains, praying for blessings, and atoning for sin. It's a worthwhile sight.
19. Temples on Sacred Mountain
Sacred Mountain is home to many temples, but the most well-known are the Gyiwu and Chukug temples. From these sites, the beautiful scenery surrounding the area is plainly visible. Here the temples are the places to rest for those hiking the mountains. If you hike with them, you may be able to get some very special pictures.
20. La-nga Tso
The lake is also near the sacred mountain, Gang Rinpoche, referred to as the Ghost Lake. Although it sounds frightening, the landscape here is very beautiful.
Ghost Lake got its name mainly because of the unusual geography and environment. The land is completely barren; there is not even a blade of grass growing here.
Snowy mountains surround this area, and nearby there are sandy dunes. The water is so clear and blue that it's like something out of a fantasy, and the lighting at sunrise and sunset gives off a beauty that is simply unreal.
