Tibet's equestrian team achieves good results at National Games

At the 2017 National Show Jumping Championship and the show jumping qualifying event (first leg) of the 13th National Games of People's Republic of China(PRC)held on May 26, Tibet's equestrian team took sixth place, with Tenzin Phuntsok, Tenzin Luodan, Hong Quan and Palbar Tsering in the team.

According to the original competition schedule, Tibet's equestrian team would also take part in the second stage of the competition on June 9, with the hope of making it into the final of the show jumping team event in National Games.

Tibet's equestrian team was founded 31 years ago, under initiation and support from the 10th Panchen Lama. In 1990, Tibet's equestrian team went to Beijing for training, and three of them were chosen for the national team representing China in various competitions around the world. Nowadays, Tibet's equestrian team riders can compete with the world's top ten riders in top competitions. The team has won individual first place or team champion at the China Equestrian Tour, the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) World Cup Jumping, the National Equestrian Eventing, the National Equestrian Classic, the FEI Challenge and other competitions at home and abroad.
