After riding 2,500 km in 25 days, the four college cyclists arrived at the foot of the Potala Palace to celebrate Lhasa Shoton Festival 2010 in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region.

August 10 witnesses the famous traditional "Shoton Festival" or dubbed "yogurt tasting festival", a grand gathering to taste yogurt while watching Tibetan opera or other art shows.

"I arrived at Lhasa first, and will meet my other three members next day," said Zhou Qiang, a sophomore of China's Hainan University while having the telephone interview on the evening of Aug 9.

It was the first time for Zhou to experience the Tibetan opera and Buddha painting displaying on such a grand festival.

The 4-member college cycling team left for Beihai from Haokou by ship, then embarked on their riding journey from Beihai in south China's Hainan Province, passing through the cities of Nanning, Kunming (capital city of Yunnan Province), Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La and Mangkam county, and finally arrived at Lhasa.

However, it was a pity that their plan for climbing the Mt. Qomolangman failed to be fulfilled for several reasons.

They planned to take train back to Haikou on August 15.
