22-year-old Tibetan Olympian wins bronze medal

The 22-year-old Tibetan girl Qieyang Shenjie,the first Tibetan Olympian of the Chinese Olympic history, won the bronze medal in the women's 20-kilometer race walk on Saturday.
Born in Tsochang in the Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, China, Qieyang Shenjie debuted at the ongoing London Olympics in the 20 km Women's Race Walking event on August 11.
In this year's IAAF Race Walking Challenge held in Taicang, Jiangsu Province, She won the bronze medal of the 20 km walk race with 1:27:04, which made her not only get the tickets to enter the London Olympic Games, but also become the first Tibetan athletes to enter the Olympic stadium in Chinese history.
Currently ranking 10th in the world, Qieyang competed with some of the biggest names in the game.
Born on November 11, 1990, the Tibetan walking wonder began race walking in 2008. Two years later, she was selected in the national team. She has a good performance in several worldwide sport competitions, including the 2011 IAAF Race Walking Challenge cum, the 13th World Championships in Athletics and the 12th Chinese National Games.
