The 2012 Tour de Qinghai Lake Cycling Race
The 2012 Tour de Qinghai Lake Cycling Race started on June 29 this season through to July 12 and would cover 2,680 kilometers, with the average altitude of the race reaching 2,391 meters above sea level while the maximum altitude at 3,865 meters.
A total of 154 riders from 22 teams have been accepted to take part in the event, which offers a tantalizing prize money of 600,000 U.S. dollars to winners.
Tour de Qinghai Lake, which is held annually, will feature 13 stages this year across Qinghai Province, Gansu Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of northwest China.
