On Sept.10, the press conference of Lhasa, 2010 Fifth International Half Marathon Challenge was held in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

At the press conference, members of the organizing committee of the challenge introduced the event and communicated with representives from the departments concerned.

Themed on the "Cheer for Life", the activity has so far attracted a total of 4,660 participants, of which 19 from foreign countries, 119 from TAR with the rest from 17 other inland provinces and regions.

The oldest participant of the challenge this year was 79-year-old Wang Jinbiao from Shanghai, while the youngest one was 13-year-old Tenzin Norbu from Lhasa Sports School. 

 "We are now ready for the upcoming event. A total of 5 ambulances with 25 doctors will be on the spot to serve the participants at any time," said Mimar Tashi, director of the medical care security office. "Besides, another 3 hospitals are arranged to be ready for any emergence."
