Located on the Red Hill at an altitude of 3700 meters in Lhasa, capital of Tibet and built in the 7th century, the Potala Palace is the largest and best-preserved palace complex in Tibet. It was included on the world heritage list by UNESCO in 1994. In 2005, a series of regulations on the administration and protection of the palace was issued.
