Recently Qinghai Province commenced an eco-tourism festival, Xinhua reported.

Qinghai, located between the Qinghai-Tibet plateau and the Loess plateau, is rich in tourism resources. There are so many scenic spots, such as the Mt. Bei, the Qinghai Lake, and Qunjia National Forest Park.

Entering the summer season, all scenic spots throughout Qinghai see lots of visitors. A tourist from Gansu named Yao Liangning said that “the difference between the environment here and city is too big, bringing family here into a place of natural beauty is very relaxing."

During the festival some spots will offer discount tickets such as the Qinghan Lake Fairy Bay Scenic Area, the Ancient City of Huangyuan and the Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum.

Jie Xu, head of the Qinghai Tourism Bureau said that protecting the environment while developing eco-tourism is the necessary route Qinghai will take in transforming and upgrading its tourist industry.

Latest data indicates that between January and May of this year Qinghai welcomed a total of 6.37 million visitors.
