Wild yaks are the wild kind of domestic yaks. They have strong limbs and long hairs to resist wind and rain. The hair on their chest and belly drops almost to the ground. With spines on their tongues, wild yaks are very fierce and good at fighting. The wild yak is a typical arctic-alpine species which can resist cold. It is an endemic species in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is under the first-level national protection.

The male Tibetan gazelle has horns bend backwards like sickles. Tibetan gazelles have narrow, pointed and short ears, large spots on buttocks, short tails, slender limbs and narrow hooves. Their back is reddish brown, and the spot on their buttocks and their belly are white. The animal is mainly distributed in Ngari Sanai, Shigatse, Nagqu and Qamdo in Tibet.

Tibetan mastiffs are second-class national preserved animals as well as world-class rare animals. The purebred Tibetan mastiffs are often seen in pasturing areas. They can be classified into lion-like and tiger-like ones by their appearance, or they can be classified in accordance with the district they live, such as Amdo, Kham and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Their bones are thick and strong and their voices are deep and resonant. They are very brave and good at fighting. Tibetan mastiffs are a breed of guard dog which is rather imposing and extremely loyal to its owner.
