PROSTRATING PILGRIM PANORAMA, 2006
Kham Region, Tibet Autonomous Region
Buddhists often make a spiritual pilgrimage across the Tibetan plateau to the holy Potala Palace in the Autonomous Region's capital city of Lhasa. The most devout (pictured) will prostrate themselves along the road for the entire journey.

TIBETAN SUNSCREEN, 2006
Nam-Tso Lake, Tibet Autonomous Region
North of Tibet's capital city of Lhasa is the sacred Nam-Tso lake. The restless turquoise waters and a backdrop of prismatic prayer flags make for one of the U-region's most attractive sites. At an altitude of over 4000 meters, even the lake’s locals (pictured) have to veil themselves from the
scalding sun.

EMINENT EVEREST, 2006
Everest Base Camp, Tibet Autonomous Region
At over 8,800 meters, Qomolangma Feng (known in English as Mount Everest) is the world's highest summit. Located on the Himalayan border, many have died trying to scale the mighty mountain. For the sane, a postcard view (pictured) from the more accessible Base Camp in Tibet will suffice.
