Pudatso National Park, a 5A-level (the highest rank in China’s tourism attractions evaluation system) national park in Shangri-La, Dechen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is located at the heart of the world natural heritage center “Three Parallel Rivers” (the Jinsha River, Lancang River, and Nujiang River) in northwestern Yunnan. The ecological environment here is well preserved with lakes, wetlands, forests, valley streams, and rare plants and animals, as well as main scenic spots such as Bita Lake, Shudou Lake, the Militangya Mountain pastureland, and so on.

Pudatso National Park covers an area of about 1,313 square kilometers. The rainfall is abundant here, and the climate is pleasant. There is lush plant growth, and vegetation is dominated by long shoot firs. Furthermore, depending on the different elevations, there are rare plants such as Rhododendron, moss, alpine pines, and birch trees. There are also rare animals, such as national first class-protected black-neck cranes, second class-protected macaque monkeys, lynx, and clouded leopard, and third class-protected blood pheasant and antelope, as well as black bears, highland rabbits, parrots, and Chinese hwamei birds.
