NO.1: Mt.Kailash

Mt.Kailash, lies near Lake Manasarowar and Lake Rakshastal in Nagri of China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Gang is the Tibetan word for snow peak and rinpoche is an honorific word meaning "precious one", so the combined term can be translated into "precious jewel of snows".It is considered a sacred place in four religions: Bon, Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.

Every year, thousands of people make a pilgrimage to Kailash, following a tradition going back thousands of years. Pilgrims of several religions believe that circumambulating Mount Kailash on foot is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune. The peregrination is made in a clockwise direction by Hindus and Buddhists.

NO.2: Lake Manasarowar

The holy lake Mapham Yutso (means "eternal and invincible jade lake" in Tibetan language) lies at an elevation of 4,600 meters in Burang County of Tibet, covering more than 400 sq.km.

It is known as the "Mother river of the world" for its intoxicating scenery. It is also depicted as the "door to heaven" by the famous monk named Xuanzang in China's Tang Dynasty in the book titled "Western Journey of the Great Tang Dynasty".

It enjoys a reputation equal to the holy mountains in the eyes of local Tibetans.

NO.3: The ruins of the Guge Kingdom

The ruins of the Guge Kingdom are located on a 300-meter-high hill with over 300 caves and destroyed earth buildings in Zhada County of Ngari Prefecture. The great kingdom with 1,000 years history came into existence against nature in a desolate plateau 4,000 meters above sea level nowadays.

Over the next centuries, the Guge Kingdom expanded continuously, and created the unique Guge culture characteristic of splendid achievement in architecture, painting and metal manufacturing.

 

NO.4: Zhada Clay Forest

Located between 3,700 and 4,500 meters above the sea level, the Zhada clay forest is the most typical and largest clay forest in the world formed by weathering of the tertiary stratum, covering an area of 2,464 square kilometers. Under different geographic conditions, the clay forest takes on different looks.

Looking from different angles, you can enjoy different wonderful views of the nature. Some look like warriors defending the mountaintop, some look like thousands of horses galloping disposedly or standing there quietly, and some like devout Buddhist followers cultivating themselves.

 

NO.5:Tholing Monastery

Meaning to fly and never fall, Tholing is famous through Ngari, founded by Yeshi-O, an outstanding king of Guge Kingdom at the beginning of 10th century. Yeshi-O was a devout Buddhist, who ever sent 21 youths to learn Tantric Buddhism in Kashmir.

The Tholing Monastery has graced Zhada County of Nagri Area of Tibet for more than a thousand years.

This is the Tholing Monastery, the oldest in Nagri, Tibet. The monastery is famous for its murals, one of the attractions for pilgrims, after worshipping.
