Best time to go: Summer
In Zhada County of Nagri Prefecture in western Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), the clay forest standing on both sides of Xiangquan River extends more than 175 kilometers.
The clay forest is sculpted by erosion, where the sediment of lakes and rivers, mainly composed by sandstone and clay, have formed into various shapes.
Looking from different angles, you can enjoy different wonderful sceneries. Some take the shape of warriors defending the mountaintop while some look like thousands of horses galloping disposedly or standing there quietly.
