Award winner Tibetan incense displayed in Tibet expo

The “Kalachakra Tibetan incense” of the Ami Culture of Tibet, China looks outstanding and striking in the exhibition hall of the 3rd China Tibet International Tourism and Culture Expo, which attracts an endless stream of visitors and customers coming to do business negotiations.

The “Kalachakra Tibetan incense” of the Ami culture has gained the German “Red dot design award” in 2016. It is the first time that a work of Tibetan industrial design won the “Oscar Prize” in the international designing circle. Apart from this, the “Kalachakra Tibetan incense” has also got a prize in the 4th Tibet Tourism Commodity Competition.
The incense has perfectly combined the Himalaya’s traditional Mandala element and the Tibetan incense culture which has a long history together, which has also pushed the Tibetan traditional incense into the high ground of the world’s industrial design circles.
The “Kalachakra Tibetan incense”, different parts within Mandala symbolize different levels of merit and virtue, the five-color principle (blue, yellow, red, green and white) respectively represents the five orientations and the five kinds of knowledge.
Ami Culture’s Chief Executive Officer, Qi Xiaoting, is a designer of the “Kalachakra Tibetan incense”. Out of the 4600 worldwide participants, Qi Xiaoting was able to break through and gain the award, which makes her feel she is very lucky. She said: “I am grateful to traditional Tibetan culture for giving me design inspirations; I am lucky to become one of those who are inheriting, studying and promoting the Tibetan culture.”

As China’s unique culture, Tibetan culture has been continuously creating and developing in the recent years, which have made more and more contributions to the economic development.
According to the information from the Culture Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region, by the end of 2015, there have been 4,126 cultural enterprises of all kinds established in Tibet.
Just in 2015 alone, Tibet’s cultural industry attracted an amount of investment numbering to 570 million RMB with annual value of production numbering to 2.7 billion RMB which accounts for 2.8% of the total output value of the whole region. The cultural industry has contributed more and more to economic growth.
