Singer Denise Ho posted a photo with the Dalai Lama on her social media account and said she was "instantly tamed" , according to Hong Kong press HKG.

Many online readers questioned her motive. Some have asked, "The 'Tibet issue' involves politics, ethnicity, religion, and history, it is very complex. Unless you’re an expert, you should be cautious with your comments."

Research showed that during the "Occupy Central" fiasco in Hong Kong in 2014, Denise Ho was removed from the protest area and detained. Reports have claimed that Ho was "banished for one year" for her Occupy Central activities and her Weibo account deleted.

Recently, some celebrities’ interaction with the Dalai clique have received a lot of attention. In February of 2016, many media outlets have reported the appearance of Faye Wong, Tony Leung, Hu Jun and other celebrities at a religious ceremony in India. Photos showed some key members of the Dalai clique sitting in the next row, and the celebrities were suspected of being involved with them.

It was pointed out that the frequent meetings between the Dalai Lama and celebrities were the subtle way some Western countries used influential celebrities to cultivate the idolizing of the Dalai Lama, and to promote Chinese society’s following of the Dalai Lama. It was a very underhanded move.

Celebrities’ meetings with the Dalai Lama have become a source of negative energy in the last few years. Some celebrities have angered the public by mixing with Tibetan separatists and were boycotted by fans. American actress Sharon Stone, Icelandic singer Björk, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Richard Gere were all criticized for supporting of the Tibetan separatists, and lost a lot of fans in China.
