Snow leopards pictured in Yushu,Qinghai
Recently, a group of snow leopards were pictured on the 5,000-meter high mountain in Zadoi County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai province.
Zadoi County, with an average altitude of over 4,200 meters, is located at the source of the Lancang River. It was known as the “hometown of snow leopard” as there are concentrated habitats for snow leopards.
As a kind of first class national protected animals, snow leopards are mainly living on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Pamirs with an altitude of over 3,500 meters. Because they live in the snow all year round, they get the name “snow leopard” and are also called as “recluses on snow mountains”.
