Chinese and foreign travel agents visit Labrang Monastery

On June 22, travel agents from Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Italy, Hong Kong, and Taiwan arrived at Labrang Monastery, the “World Tibetology Institute”, to experience the charm of traditional Tibetan Buddhist culture.

Labrang Monastery, or “Lhadrang” in Tibetan, means “Living Buddha’s palace”. It is one of the six major monasteries of Gelug sect in Tibetan Buddhism and is known as the “World Tibetology Institute”. It once had as many as 4,000 monks during its prosperous time.
