Religious dance performed in Labrang Monastery, Gansu

Religious dances were performed by monks of Labrang Monastery in Xiahe County, northwest China's Gansu Province on February 10, 2017, attracting a total of 100,000 visitors both from abroad and China’s Gansu, Qinghai, Yunnan and Sichuan provinces.  

Religious dance performance is an important activity of the monastery in lunar January to pray for good luck for the New Year.  

As one of the six famous monasteries of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, Labrang Monastery is called as the world's institution of Tibetology.
