4K documentary on Tibet's scenery, culture begins filming

“Vertical Lines”, a 4K documentary on Tibet’s scenery and culture, officially began filming in Tibet’s Markam County of Chamdo in eastern Tibet on March 19, 2016, Tibet Business News reported.

Khampu, a famous Tibetan photographer, and the director of the documentary film, said, “We are to showcase the most beautiful and interesting aspect of Tibet’s vertical elevation drop to the rest of the world through lens.”

Khampu was born in Litang in Sichuan’s Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,  dubbed as the “highest city in the world”. In the 2013,  through China’s National Geography magazine, he revealed the main message of his expression about Tibet: documenting the genuine culture and unique scenery of Tibet.

Tibet has a huge  fall from 8,844 meters to 500 meters. The film crew of more than 20 people will travel to the seven prefectures across Tibet, and shoot the filim in nine parts. The crew will be equipped with the most advanced cameras and aerial photography videos that can achieve imaging results better than the 4K images.

The “Vertical Lines” film crew started off on March 21.
