The “Tibet Norbulingka Cultural Relics Exhibition” is being held at the Fujian Provincial Museum in Fuzhou, capital of southeast China’s Fujian Province, Tibet Business News reported.

Fuzhou is the second stop on the tour exhibition of Norbulingka cultural relics following the first one held in Beijing last September. This is also the first time for the Norbulingka (the Dalai Lamas’ summer palace) cultural relics to be shown in a coastal province of China.

The exhibition displays 100 pieces of cultural relics, including a total of 30 Buddha statues, spanning from China’s Song Dynasty (960—1279 A.D.) to the Qing Dynasty(1644-1911 A.D.). The oldest one can be traced back to Tibet’s Tubo Kingdom period in the 8th century. In addition, the exhibition includes 23 Thangka paintings as well as Buddhist scriptures, stupas, Dharma instruments, and senior monks’ daily items and clothing accessories.

According to the head of the Norbulingka Division of Cultural Relics, the exhibition shows the unique culture of the Tibetan garden and the historical course of mutual cultural influence between the Han and Tibetan ethnic groups.

The exhibition will last until March 25.
