The Tibet Television Station began recording for its “2016 Spring Festival and Losar TV Gala” on Jan. 27, Tibet Business News reported.

In addition to the TV Gala, the Tibet TV Station is also hosting the Tibetan language Spring Festival and Losar New Year Gala, and the first Spring Festival and Losar Web Gala.

Tenzin Drolgar, a 19-year-old student at the Central University of Finance and Economics, is a singer signed with the Tibet Film and Television Company. She is known as the “representative of the grassroots celebrities of the Tibet Gala”.

 “The criteria for the our selection of Tibetan performers is that as long as you have talent and are willing to perform, the door is wide open for you,” said an organizer with the Tibet Gala program.

In addition to Tenzin Drolgar who can attract a large number of young audiences, this year the Tibet Gala producers also invited the young and passionate “Tsampa Brothers” from Qinghai, a Tibetan rap group who have become quite famous in recent years. Their style is to rap in Tibetan language, bringing a fresh sensation to listeners. They are currently a rising force in China.

Besides, this year the Tibet Gala has also invited some popular Tibetan singers such as Padma Samdrup and Acha Group.
