Antarctic research team receives acclimatization training in Tibet
17 members of Antarctic research team set off for Tibet on August 18 to receive a two-week plateau acclimatization training which is the first time for Antarctic research team.
The 24th Antarctic research plan carried out in October this year will be a comprehensive research on the Dome A, the highest icecap in the Antarctic. The main aim of this training in Tibet is to observe and train team members' plateau adaptability, team work consciousness, physical and mental conditions etc. Since Tibetan plateau's altitude, climate, environment are similar to the inland areas in Antarctic, the training site changed from No.1 glacier and No.5 glacier in Xinjiang to Yangbajain Mountaining Training School and Tibet Mountaining Team.
