An 10,000 people signing activity was held in Xigaze to welcome the upcoming Olympic Games to be held in Beijing 2008.

8,000 people filled the activity site in the first hour and overall 11,000 people joined the activity by the end. The signing panel is full filled in Chinese, Tibetan and English. Most of the participants are students, besides parents and tourists from home and abroad. Many of them not only signed their names but sincerely best wishes as well.

A 10-year student Samdrup Wangyel wrote down his name in both Tibetan and Chinese carefully. "The teacher told us it was proud for us to hold the great event in China. The holy flame will be lit up in Xigaze, I'm very proud of it."
