From July 7 to 8, 2010, sixteen Taiwan experts attended the 2nd Cross-straits Seminar on Tibetology in China Tibetology Research Center in Beijing.

Lin Guanqun, an expert who studies Tubo history from Chinese Culture University submitted his paper A Critical Analysis on the "Greater Tibet": Discuss the Variation of Tibetan Territory.

"'Greater Tibet' claimed by the 14th Dalai Lama disregards historical facts and contemporary ethnic distribution," said Professor Lin.

Lin also pointed out the three aspects to discuss the variation of Tibetan territory. "It was not justifiable that the 14th Dalai Lama claimed that 'Greater Tibet' included Qinghai, western Sichuan, northwestern Yunnan and Tibet Autonomous Region, which were the historical territory that belonged to Tibet," said Professor Lin.

"Most of the Tibetan history was written by monks, its content has to do with the Buddhist miracles or biographies. It is hard to verify and demonstrate the historical facts through textual documentary," Professor Lin said this was the facts of one aspect.

"Secondly, territory and boundary will change with state power, fixed boundary does not persuade for us,"  Professor Lin added.

"Finally, Qinghai, western Sichuan, northwestern Yunnan are well-known multi-ethnic mosaic areas with Tibetan ethnic minority," Professor Lin analyzed.
