On October 22nd, the US Congress released a report on self-immolations in China’s Tibetan-inhibited areas, asserting that "China’s cultural genocide and control over Tibet have led to the desperate self-immolations". This argument was absolutely groundless.

The United States has long been attacking China’s Tibet policies and supporting the Dalai group by all means. Washington Post, the mainstream media in the US said that the desperate self-immolations were conducted only to draw international attention. Not long ago, the American Congress conducted an analysis on self-immolations, giving a detailed inside look at self-immolations, based on falsified statistics.

The Americans tend to meddle in other countries’internal affairs regardless of its own social problems.

The racial discrimination in the US is very serious. For example，the native American culture has long been oppressed by carrying out through the legislation and promoting its mainstream culture. It is estimated that there would be only five percent American Indians who can speak their own language in 50 years.

However, the American government ignored its own problems and denounced China’s internal affairs with a double standard, which is nothing but hegemonic politics and an affront on China’s human rights situation.

Why is US so keen on self-immolations in some of the Chinese Tibetan areas?

History over the past hundred years has proved that the so-called claim of"Tibet independence" was all provoked by the Western imperialist’s greed for Tibet.

In fact, the "1959 Armed Rebellion" has been fully supported by the anti-China forces headed by the United States. Dean Acheson, former Secretary of State slandered China’s liberation of its own territory as "invasion"and incited other countries to submit a proposal in the United Nations which interfered in China’s internal affairs.

Apart from the political support, the US has also provided financial support to the Dalai clique. Since the United States National Endowment for Democracy has provided funds the "Tibet International Campaign", a notorious organization engaged in separatist activities. And the United States House of Representatives financially aided Radio free Asia and Voice of America to back Tibet independence.

The US has conducted a double-dealing policy on "Tibet issue". On the one hand it recognizes China’s sovereignty over Tibet, on the other hand, it implements the policy of containing China and supports the Dalai group’s separatist activities by all means. Every US president after Bill Clinton met with the Dalai Lama for its own political purpose.

As a US scholar pointed out that the "Tibet issue" serves as a tool for the US to contain China. Its backing to the Dalai clique is not at all for its concern for Tibetan culture, religion and human rights, but for its own anti-China purpose. And the Dalai group is nothing but a puppet for the Western countries to restrain China’s development.
