In 2011, Tibet Autonomous Region will earmark altogether 490 million yuan for the bilingual preschool education in rural areas, according to source from the regional education department.

The region will use the fund to build 134 new rural bilingual kindergartens, and renovate and expand another 20 ones in the rural area.

The overall planned area reaches up to 204,000 square kilometers, with various supporting facilities to be constructed.

All the kindergartens of the region will accommodate 510,000 local kids by the end of this year.
