LHASA, June 28 (China Tibet Online) Vice chairman of the Tibet regional government, Palbar Tashi met with the visiting Vietnamese ambassador to China Ruan Wenshi in Lhasa.

Palbar Tashi pointed out, Tibet has accomplished remarkable results and development in various undertakings since 1951.

At present, Tibet has enjoyed a good and rapid economic growth, stability in the society, national unity, and religious harmony, good environment, and the Tibetan people are living and working happily. Tibet has entered one of the best eras in terms of stability and growth in history.

This is attributed to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, the embodiment of the superiority of the socialist system, the outcome of the selfless aid from people of all ethnic groups in the country as well as the concerted efforts of the officials and people of Tibet.

The 14th Dalai Lama is not an innocent religious figure, but a political exile who intends to split up the motherland, undermine national unity and China’s political system all under the banner of religion. These separatist activities go against the historical trend and will in no way prevail.

Palbar Tashi expressed his hope that the Vietnamese would understand and support China’s standpoint on the issues related to Tibet.

Ruan Wenshi said that the party and government of Vietnam have always held that China has undisputed sovereignty over Tibet. He hoped that Vietnam can deepen exchanges and enhance cooperation with China’s Tibet Autonomous Region in areas of economy, culture, tourism and trade.
