The Dalai Lama's 'retirement' is only a lie
Editor's note: Recently, the 14th Dalai Lama was interviewed again by New Delhi TV (NDTV) and he claimed that "my position is a semi-retired position". Even NDTV can't help asking him about the so-called "semi-retired". As a matter of fact, all the words that the Dalai Lama has used to describe his "retirement" are political farce.
The spokesman of the "Tibetan government-in-exile" announced on May 31, 2011 that the "parliament of Tibetan government-in-exile" held a conference in Dharamsala of India approving the "Amendment" of the "Charter of Tibetan government-in-exile", and the 14th Dalai Lama formally gave up his political and administrative power after he transferred his political responsibility to Lobsang Sangay, who was elected as Prime Minister of the "Tibetan government-in-exile" at the end of April.
That must be the Dalai Lama's so-called "retirement".
Has the Dalai Lama really "retired" this time? Not at all. He only turned over his "political responsibilities" to the so-called "leaders elected by the Tibetan government-in-exile". It was merely a political farce.
The author believes that such a farce aimed to draw more attention as he would no longer be able to attract others' attention by riots or ridiculous arguments after plotting the March 14th Riots in 2008.
It is not difficult for us to see through the Dalai Lama's scheme by analyzing the process of his "retirement" with his activities below:
In November, 2010, the Dalai Lama claimed that he would "retire" within 6 months so that he would be able to concentrate on practicing Buddhism as a simple lama.
In January, 2011, the Dalai Lama claimed to retire again.
On March 16, 2011, news from Dharamsala said that most members of the "Tibetan parliament-in-exile" disapproved the Dalai Lama's request; and on the same day, the Dalai Lama claimed that he could live up to 113 years old in an interview by The Nation, newspaper of Thailand .
According to a "councilor" of the "Tibetan parliament-in-exile",the "Tibetan government-in-exile" depends on the 14th Dalai Lama and no Tibetans in China would admit such a "government" without him.
The Guardian also reported, the Dalai Lama expressed that Tibetan people pleaded him to stay on his post.
"Since I made my intention clear I have received repeated and earnest requests both from within Tibet and outside, to continue to provide political leadership," he said. " (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/10/dalai-lama-retires-from-political-life-tibet)
The whole thing proved once again that the Dalai Lama lied to us. The so-called "retirement" is just a political stance that the Dalai Lama showed to fool people all over the world. Given that his "retirement" has provided him with full preparations to go on controlling the "Tibetan government-in-exile", which is confirmed by the weekly Star based in Germany by quoting the world media magnet Rupert Murdoch's words that the Dalai Lama is an old lama wearing a pair of Italian Gucci shoes and travelling around the world. And he is very fond of politics. The weekly also holds the opinion that the Dalai Lama will not really retire from his post.
The Dalai Lama broke his word by only claiming "to retire" without taking any action. Let's take a look at what the Dalai Lama did after he proclaimed retirement. To maintain the inner stability of the Dalai clique, he offered the formality of "retirement" so as to pacify the growing forces such as the Tibetan Youth Congress(TYC) and the Tibetan Women's Association who tend to split his own clique. So the Dalai Lama still acted as the "spiritual leader of the Tibetans in exile".
After the Dalai Lama's retirement, he was still active in his "political mission" of splitting China by visiting numerous western countries to sell his idea. He had already made visits to New Zealand, Australia and the United States respectively.
All of the above proved that the Dalai Lama's "retirement" is only nominal. His real intention is to make it as a fig leaf so as to continue to split our motherland. Just as an editorial in Shark News based in France said that the Dalai Lama's "retirement" is just an excuse for heads of some countries to shun away from interacting with the Dalai Lama as a "political leader." But after his proclaimed "retirement", they could easily establish the "formal relations" with the Dalai clique.
Therefore, it is clear that the Dalai Lama would not stick to his word of "retirement". Instead, he will continue to collaborate with his western masters to split his motherland. We, peace-loving people, should watch out on the Dalai Lama—an old lama in a cloak of "spiritual leader", not be deceived by his lies.
