UK netizen’s response to self-immolations
Editor's Note: A netizen from UK expressed his views on a report by The Times of India on self-immolations. The following are his comments in summary.
We should learn to respect each other
I was horrified by (The) Times of India reporting and supporting of this kind of savage actions of self immolation. It is called glorified by this official publication. Why not your people glorify yourself and this is my view. Why (are) your people against (Hu) Jintao’s visit of (to) India? Is it not good for India? Or you just want to use exile "liars" as pawn? I have to say that I have changed my view of (to) Indian(s) and India a little bit over the night. I thought your people were great people and your nation were (was) great nation. Not anymore until you change your view on this anti-civilization act.
My view is not important as many others, I just a person out (of) billions. However, my view (is) to speak out a truth, the truth is that I will have to do my best to save human life for not encouraging in any way the savage act like self-immolation. As human being, we can do much better if we learn to respect each other, to live peaceful(ly) with each other, including these people who call themselves "Tibetan", but they are actually not.
Chinese and Tibetans are one nation
I do not have to tell (the) Chinese government to stop anything they are doing in Tibet. They are doing fine. If you call their action in Tibet is anti-civilization, I do not understand what you need? You want them to stop building road? You want them to stop building hospital? You want them to stop building school? You want them to stop educate (educating) people to know how? You want them to stop share (sharing) new ideas for new century? What do you want? You want them to go back to dark-age and free of material life? You want them (to) follow Dalai-Lama-in-exile so free of Chinese thinking? You want (to) separate Tibet from China and worship your holiness-in-exile? You know what? When people call you an exile, meaning you are part of something you no longer belong to and it is unfortunate. But, Chinese and Tibetans are one nation, and we live together as one nation for quite many hundred years and will continue doing so. No earthquake can separate us. And you will be welcome home to contribute to homeland you used to live in. China is your home and will forgive you. We look forward, not backward.
I enjoy to talk to people even they are very ignorant to call Tibet a free country. Who are brain-washed? These self-immolators. Even the Dalai Lama in exile says that Tibet is part of China. Simply reading the names and look into United Nations country list. Tibet is (a) part of China, it is Chinese government's responsibility to build whatever needed by their people in Tibet and anywhere in China, just like (the) US build(s) schools anywhere in America.
Who is behind self-immoliations?
(There are) billion people live in china, including millions Tibetans. Who is forcing people (into) self-immolation? Who is promoting it? Who is enjoying it? Who is praising it, call it non-violence, call it peaceful, call it powerful protect, (and) call it beautiful soul in heaven, fabric of universe?
I am not a Tibetan but I know lot of them. They have (the) best education on earth, they have (the) best job they can get. Their life get better and better everyday. They are happy as every other Chinese. Even (the) Dalai Lama was a country leader in 1950. He chose a different way to run away from homeland. But he is still welcome home if he chose to. We have big hearts and we love Tibetans, Indians and all other nations. We do not want a war and we do not promote a war, just as we do not want hatred and we do not spread rumors. If you are Tibetans and still in exile, you should come back home and experience what is happening in person in real life, not by imagination.
People have homes and they like go back home for visiting and staying. It is common sense and quite a human thing to do. But when we have different views, we need to talk in a good will, compromise is also needed. This is too quite a human thing to do. But I am against go extremes. I am against false accusations. I do not believe that China forced self-immolations of these Tibetans in Tibet. That is not the way Chinese do things. Also by looking at what is happening in India, the same thing repeated in a timed way. We can tell who is behind it. I am against it because I do not want my children to watch, I want them to grow up having a good image of the world, practicing in a rational way. That is my thought and I share with you.
