Former serfs sing for happy life after 60 years of liberation

A gala to celebrate the 90th birthday of the Party and 60th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet was held in Yamda Town, Tohlung Dechen County in suburban Lhasa on Feb.20, 2011.
Farmers and herders from local villages present wonderful singing and dancing performances as well as their best talents.
Yamda, once an aristocratic manor, was liberated 60 years ago. Serfs in the manor became owners of the land after the peaceful liberation.
By the end of 2010, the population reached over 3,800 residents and their per capita annual income amounted to 5,400 yuan.
This gala organized by the rural Tibetans was a special celebration to show the love for their hometown and the pride of becoming masters six decades ago.
