286 kinds of major illnesses treatable within Tibet
In recent years, southwest China's Tibet has accelerated its process to further improve medical care.
As of present, 286 major illnesses are treatable within Tibet, and 1,824 mid-level illnesses are treatable within the prefecture, in addition, county-level hospitals are able to treat common and minor illnesses. The primary public health system is set up, and residents of all ethnicities are able to enjoy a high-level of medical care right in their hometown.
Tibet will build a "major" and "mid-level" illnesses list which will periodically supplement and adjust, and create an expansive medical care network to ensure that the medical care provided by the People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region would reach the average level offered by top level hospitals in western provincial capital cities by 2020, and that all major illnesses are treatable inside Tibet.
