With about a month left before the 2018 Tibetan New Year, a TV gala to celebrate the festival is being rehearsed in southwest China's Tibet.

In the rehearsal hall, a group of young performers dressed in costumes of ethnic Menba, Luoba, as well as Sherpa people and Deng people were guided in their dancing by a teacher.

"We're going to be on the Tibetan New Year TV gala!" One kid said excitedly.

Tibetan New Year, also known as Losar in Tibetan language, falls on Feb. 16 this year, the same day this year's Spring Festival celebrated.
