Editor's note: The Sichuan-Tibet Plateau, a beautiful region that reaches toward the heavens, is a place showered with blue skies, covered in white clouds, and dotted with snow-covered mountains, but recently, something truly remarkable has been materializing among the households that call this place home. A groundbreaking historic change has been reshaping the land and its people. From today on, we will publish a series of stories to tell you those changes.

"My grateful heart gives thanks to you." The campus of Bunsum Central is full of children's youthful voices singing beautiful melodies and showing their sincere gratitude for their warmhearted contributors. The New Dream Education Fund's donation ceremony is now being held and was established by Sichuan Xinrong Cable under the strong support of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Red Cross Society of Qingyang District, not to mention the unremitting coordinated efforts of the Qingyang support crew, with a total investment of 1.5 million yuan.

The fund is meant to provide five years of donations to Derong's educational cause in order to set the dreams of children in poor mountainous areas alight. In 2015, a total of 300 thousand yuan was first put into use as start-up capital. The next year, the Fund donated a "New Dream Science Classroom", including more than 40 sets of computers, a server, office tables, chairs, and even two educational robots donated to Bunsum Elementary. When a chairperson invited a robot named Alpha, Alpha waved its hands and performed a moonwalk. Pupils in the classroom gave ecstatic cheers, excited to see what the new robot had to teach them.

Qingyang has already spent 16 years supporting education in Tibetan-inhabited areas, and during that time, nearly 300 excellent young teachers and over 40 principles have been sent in 24 teams to support education in the region, meaning that a solid management philosophy and set of teaching methods can be found even in the remotest of villages.

Education as a means of poverty relief will ensure that the trying times of old will not be passed to the children of tomorrow!
