Qi Zhala (Che Dhalha), Chairman of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, conducted an investigation from May 3 to May 6 in Shigatse City, visiting residents living across the China-Nepal border who were impacted by the Nepalese earthquake in 2015 and talking with them about their production and living status.

In the Zham Township, Qi Zhala asked about the post-earthquake rebuilding efforts and the state of industry development. Qi Zhala gave high praise for local economic development via tourism resources, farming and shepherding resources, as well as ethnic handicrafts industry. He reminded that the Zham region is still in an active earthquake period, and local governments need to focus on disaster-prevention efforts, while help residents with employment issues and solve problems in their daily lives.

On the afternoon of May 4, Qi Zhala had a discussion with the expert team in Zham Township dispatched by the central government of China, who attaches great attention on the changes of Zham's geology. He hoped that the expert team would finish the assessment report as soon as possible. In late afternoon, although it was pouring, Qi Zhala did not stop his investigation. He inspected the mountain cracks with his team on slippery mountain roads.
