Muslim folk costumes displayed in Gansu Provincial Museum

On August 31st, the "China Muslim Folk Clothing Cultural Exhibition” was opened at the Gansu Provincial Museum.

At present, China has a total of 10 minority regions that believe and follow the Islamic faith. Gansu is a place in which Islamic culture and traditional Chinese culture meld.

The “China Muslim Folk Clothing Cultural Exhibition” is an outstanding exhibition amongst those done in recent years planned by the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing.

It is separated into three sections including the “Flower and Youth”, the “Mt. Tianshan Beautiful Shadow” and the “Pamir Spring”.

Throughout the three exhibitions 10 ethnic groups aforementioned are displayed in different manners.

The exhibition has a total of 34 sets of clothing and 51 ornaments. They are the essence of more than 50 years of collection conducted by the Cultural Palace of Nationalities.
