“My homeland also has snowy mountains, grasslands, pastures just like the beautiful landscapes of Tibet’s highland plateaus.” Since a young age, she has had a strong interest in Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan Medicine. 15 years ago, Tony became an exchange student studying Tibetan language at the University of Tibet.

After returning to home from abroad while going through medical school, she inadvertently stumbled upon Tibetan medicine. She thinks that Tibetan medicine has magical aspects. It surprised her in many regards such as how it understands the origins of diseases, the cause and how treatment should be applied.

At that time she became determined to study Tibetan medicine. After studying in the U.S. for a period of time, she went once again to Qinghai University’s Department of Tibetan Medicine to start systematically researching traditional Tibetan medicine.

Tuoni said that at present the total number of cancer patients receiving treatment is raising annually. Methods for treatment of cancer found in Tibetan medicine are getting more and more recognition.

At the same time, there are incidences where Tibetan medicine was able to successfully treat cancer while western medicine was not able to. For example there were patients with stomach cancer or leukemia that felt much better after receiving treatment involving Tibetan medicine.

AIDS is a global epidemic and 5 years before, Qinraoaosi started using Tibetan medicine treatment methods in the treatment of AIDS patients.

Qinraoaosi found that the characteristics of comprehensive AIDS was comparable to amassed plagues found during Tibetan medicine style diagnoses. He says that during two years of clinical practice, Tibetan medicine was definitely effective in improving the outbreak of AIDS characteristics within patients.

Tuoni also said that her instructor is just in the midst of conducting research work regarding this treatment method. Many Americans that receive Tibetan medical treatment for AIDS had all kinds of difficulties. Yet through application of traditional Tibetan medical treatment all kinds of excellent treatment and preventative effects were reached. She thinks that if a point is found to make possible the integration of Tibetan and Western medicine, then perhaps the positive effects of the treatment will become even more obvious.

At the same time, the U.S. and European countries amongst others are incorporating departments that work on Tibetan medicine related efforts. Outside of China there are various Tibetan Medicine related organizations that are gradually standardizing.
