The Blue mask or the Wenba mask of Tibetan Opera, means fisherman or hunter and it is the most important mask within Tibetan Opera. It is made with cardboard or multi-layered gauze stuck together. The top portion is made with blue satin paste, the shape is exaggerated and the painting work is splendid and ornamental. It belongs to the category of flat masks.

The White mask or, the Arewa mask predates the Blue masks. It is made with sheep skin and the shape is simple. It is one of the more primitive masks from early Tibetan Opera. It represents antiquity, good fortune and festivity.

The Tashi Sholpa mask is created on the foundation of the Wenba mask by adding more decorative details. It symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, wealth and power.
