The 16th "Meet in Beijing Arts Festival" witnessed the re-launching ceremony of the dance drama "Tsangyang Gyatso" at Minzu Theatre in Beijing on Monday.
The dance drama, which was first launched at the end of 2015, proved so popular that it was brought back at the arts festival.
Tsangyang Gyatso was the sixth Dalai Lama who lived at the end of the 17th century. He is recognized as one of Tibet's best poets.

Director Ding Wei based the dance drama on Tsangyang Gyatso's poems and stories.
At the re-launching ceremony, Ding said that the combination of the characters of the Buddha, of the ordinary people and Tibetan music was a challenge in preparing the dance drama.
Famous composer Li Cangsang produced the music for the drama.
The dance drama will be staged at the National Center for the Performing Art (NCPA) in Beijing on May 27 to 29.
