"Tibetan Rock Dog", a Chinese 3D animation film based on a cartoon of the same name has been released in Beijing.

The original cartoon, created by Chinese musician Zheng Jun, features a Tibetan mastiff dreaming of making rock music.

But his father told him a Tibetan mastiff's responsibility is to guard the village for vulnerable sheep, which had been looked after for generations. Still, the the son didn't change his mind.

The dubber for the father is Guo Degang, a well-known crosstalk artist in China. The voice of the film's hero was dubbed by Guo's son Guo Qilin, also a crosstalk performer.

Crosstalk is a unique art form in China. It has two actors on the stage conducting humorous conversations to entertain a live audience.

Two other crosstalk performers have also joined the dubbing cast for the movie.

The film is scheduled to hit screens on August 8.

It will also run in international film markets.
