Documentary by Tibetan director wins international award

The five-serie documentary entitled "Zanda surrounded by soil forests in heavenly Ngari" recently won the Finalist Award in the International "Golden Panda" Documentary Festival of the 13th Sichuan TV Festival in Chengdu, capital of Sichua Province, Tibet News News reported.

The documentary is co-produced by Ngari Prefecture of Tibet and Zanda County. The theme of the preservation of historical and cultural relics, and inheritance of traditional culture and lifestyle in Zanda is reflected through real stories. Director of the film Laba Ouzhu, attended the awarding ceremony.

First launched in 1991, the International "Golden Panda" Documentary Festival has been held for 12 consecutive years till now. It is one of the most influential international events in documentary awarding in Asia. Judges of this year’s festival consist of 20 experts from six countries and regions, andall of them are either experienced producers or winners of many international awards. A total of 917 works from 41 countries have been received by the organizer of the festival and 27 films from 11 countries such as China, Israel and France won awards.

This is the second time Ngari Television has won an award in the International "Golden Panda" Documentary Festival after the film Purang in Heavenly Ngari. The documentary about Zanda will continue to participate in various domestic and international events, expecting to win more awards.
