Tibet's first charity supermarket located in the Lhasa City Social Welfare Institute was inaugurated on November 6th. The supermarket was co-founded by the Lhasa Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and the Lhasa City Charity Federation, with total investments amounting to 4 mln Yuan.
The supermarket occupying 135 square meters is being implemented as part of a new model for social assistance, which is aimed at strengthening the regular assistance to poor urban population and satisfying a variety of related needs, reports said.
It is also reported that the charity supermarket will achieve full coverage throughout Lhasa within a two-year time frame, ensuring that there will be a charity supermarket in each city district by that time.
