Trip Overview:
This is a classic tour that provides the opportunity to visit Lhasa and Qomolangma Base camp. The tour will get tourists acquainted by covering all main tourist sites like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, BarkorStreet, Drepung and Sera monastery with GyantseKumbum and TashiLhunpho monastery. Tourists can also see natural scenery like the beautiful, sacred lake of Yamdrok Tso, and Karo glacier, and beautiful views of Mt. Qomolangma, the highest mountain in the world.

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa.

Arrival in Lhasa, tourists may view the YarlungTsangpo River / Bhamaputra River (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa River on their way to hotel.

After arriving in Lhasa, tourist can take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude or feel free to go to Potala Square, enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of the Potala Palaceand around.

Day 2: Lhasa City (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Borkor Street)

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site - Potala Palace, which is also the winter palace of Dalai Lama. It's situated at 12,139 feet above sea level. It's a 13-story high building that contains over 1,000 rooms, various statues, stupas, murals and artifacts.

Then continue to Jokhang Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s a spiritual center for Buddhists in Tibet. Next to the temple there is Bakhor Street, filled with pilgrims and street vendors, selling traditional Tibetan items.

Day 3: Lhasa City (Drepung and Sera Monastery)

Clients will visit two great monasteries of central Tibet: the Drepung and Sera Monastery. Drepung was a seat of central government until the 5th Dalai Lama built Potala Palace. Enjoy the monks’ debate the Buddhist scriptures.

Day 4: Lhasa-Shigatse

Head to Gyantse. On the way, the group will pass over the Gampala pass (4790m), and will get a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m). The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains. The tour moves on to Gyantse where we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. After driving 1.5 hours, tourists will arrive in Shigatse where we’ll visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the seat of Tibet's second highest incarnation, the Panchen Lama.

Day 5: Qomolangma Base Camp

Drive to Lhatse where tourists can take lunch. Then drive to Shegar and if the weather is clear enough, tourists can view the Mt. Everest in the distance on the way back down. After 4 to 6 hours, arrive at Rongbuk monastery, but on the way there, tourists will pass Pang la Pass, one of the highest passes in Tibet at 5050m. From that pass, enjoy view all of the five highest peaks in the world.

Day 6: Qomolangma Base Camp to Shigatse
In the morning, tourists can see the sunrise appear on the top of Mt Qomolangma, and have a full view of the magnificent Mount .Tourists may trek from tent to the base camp 4km one way, or go to EBC by local bus. Then drive back to Shigatse Hotel.

Day 7: Shigatse to Lhasa

Drive back to Lhasa on the friendship Highway. The whole distance is almost 280km and it takes 6 hours. Stay overnight in Lhasa or leave for the airport.

Day 8: Departure

Transfer to airport or train station.
